Nate Diaz may have pulled off one of the biggest upsets in recent MMA history, but he’s the one who has to sit out for more than a month due to damage he sustained at the hands of the defeated Conor McGregor.

As per Sherdog.com, the welterweight will be out of action until April 20 until the laceration above his right eye completely heals as per the orders of the Nevada Athletic Commission.

Diaz got McGregor to tap out with a rear naked choke at UFC 196 in what was the Irishman’s first welterweight fight in the promotion.

But Diaz didn’t come out unscathed.

Sherdog.com added the NAC would only allow Diaz to undergo contact training after April 5.

McGregor, despite the loss, left UFC 196 uninjured and was not slapped with a medical ban.

Miesha Tate, the new UFC women’s bantamweight champion, and Holly Holm are also uninjured after their co-main event fight.
