GEORGE, South Africa—The three members of the Philippine team are ready to rumble in the BMW Golf Cup International World Final starting Wednesday, March 9 at the Montagu and Outeniqua courses of the ultra-exclusive Fancourt Golf Resort here.

On Monday, siblings William and Kim Hong and Toti Barcelon joined qualifiers from 42 other countries in the opening ceremony of the 16th edition of the tourney returning to South Africa for the third time.

William will see action in Class A, Kim will challenge in the ladies division and Barcelon will play in Class B all hoping to deliver only the second victory by Team Philippines here.

The Hongs, whose family operates a heavy equipment business in Cebu, are joined by their parents and brother Chuck, a touring professional, in the trip they earned for topping the local eliminations featuring owners of brand new BMWs last December at Tagaytay Midlands.

Karl Magsuci, marketing director of BMW Philippines/Asian Carmakers Corp., is the delegation head.

“We’ve travelled too far and it’s all about making the most of this adventure. We’re hoping that it’s our turn to win again,” Magsuci said.

Apart from rare chance of representing their country, BMW Golf Sport has laid out elaborate arrangements for them and their chosen guests.

Included in the itinerary are once in a lifetime experiences only this part of the globe can offer like shark cage diving, an African night safari, beach outings, shopping trips and test drives of the newest BMW models.
