SAN CARLOS CITY, Pangasinan—Chasing yet another stint in the Olympics, Jessie Khing Lacuna, went three-for-three in his events to lead Team Philippines to golden feats Thursday in the PSC-POC Philippine National Games.
The 22-year-old Lacuna, who took a leave from his studies at Ateneo to focus on qualifying for the Rio de Janeiro Games, dominated the 50-meter free-style, 100m butterfly and the 200m individual medley, one of the two events he’s hoping to swim in Brazil.

“We can say that we are on track,” added Lacuna, who is two seconds off the Olympic qualifying time of 2:00.28 in 200 IM, and five slower than the 400m free qualifying time of 3:50.40.
Fellow PH swimmer Hannah Dato reigned in all her four events—100m butterfly, 200 IM, 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle, while Axel Ngui bagged gold in the 50m backstroke.
