University of the Philippines is rocking and rolling as it recorded its fourth straight win in the UAAP Season 78 women’s volleyball tournament with a sweep of Adamson University, 25-23, 25-22, 25-22, Saturday at San Juan Arena.

An unlikely helper gave the Lady Maroons their 6-3 record when Lady Falcon Jema Galanza’s final hit went straight to the block of Marian Buitre.

It was also Galanza’s fault when UP got its 24-22 match point after her two straight errors.

FEATURED STORIES

Lady Maroons head coach Jerry Yee said they had to shake off the feeling of complacency with their streak putting them at third seed behind defending champions Ateneo and runners-up De La Salle.

“Yeah, nakikitaan ko ng complacency, slow start and I was shouting to them kasi ang bilis na ng pace ng laro ang bagal pa rin nila,” Yee said who described his team as zombies. “Hirap talaga sa start.”
