De La Salle got back at University of Santo Tomas as the Lady Spikers decimated the dumbfounded Golden Tigresses, 25-11, 25-13, 25-17, in a rematch on Saturday in the UAAP Season 78 Women’s Volleyball Tournament at San Juan Arena.

Despite a two-game win streak—with the first a victory over the Lady Spikers—the Golden Tigresses did not have momentum on their side, which was evident in the final play when a disastrous reception sealed their fifth loss in nine games.

Lady Spikers head coach Ramil De Jesus said his players were calm the moment they arrived at the venue and it was that silent focus that paved their revenge run.

“Dumating pa lang kami dito, okay sila, relax na relax at masaya mood nitong mga to,” said De Jesus, whose team sits behind Ateneo in the standings despite having identical 7-2 records. “Nakita ko sa mga bata na gusto talagang makabawi. Ngayon ayaw talagang magpatalo.”

“Mas maganda ngayon kasi focused sila at mabilis maka move on sa nangyari.”

Kim Dy led the Lady Spikers with 12 points while Mika Reyes and Ara Galang each had 11.

No one from UST managed to crack the double-digit scoring mark with team captain EJ Laure the closest with eight points.
