Phoenix-FEU pulled away in the second quarter to cruise to a 92-72 win over BDO-NU and enter the 2016 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup semifinals Tuesday at San Juan Arena.
Mike Tolomia scattered 19 points, six assists and five rebounds, while Achie Inigo went on 4-of-7 from the three-point area to finish with 15 points for the Accelerators, who outscored the Bulldogs, 30-13, in the second period.
“From the start, our pep talk to the team was we need to play comsistent basketball because this will be the challenge to this team. We need to execute offensively and defensively,” said Phoenix-FEU head coach Eric Gonzales.
Phoenix-FEU also got its injured players back, with Roger Pogoy nabbing 12 points and eight rebounds and Raymar Jose ending up with 11 points.
Mac Belo also provided stability for the Accelerators with eight points, 12 boards, and five assists.
Phoenix-FEU will take on Caida Tile in a best-of-three semifinals series set next week.
The Tile Masters made the semis after crushing AMA University, 122-97, in the first game.
Alfred Aroga had game-highs 21 points and 15 rebounds that went with six assists and four blocks for BDO-NU.
