Vios Cup: Top racers, celebs clash in Clark

The local racing season gets a glitzy start when the 2016 Vios Cup roars off with its third edition Saturday at Clark International Speedway in Pampanga.

Some 45 individual teams and nine celebrity racers will see action in the event which will feature Super Sporting Class for the first time aside from the regular Sporting and Promotional Classes.

Champion in the Super Sporting Class will win a brand-new Toyota Vios 1.5 G M/T, while the second and third placers will run away with P200,000 and P100,000, respectively.

The Super Sporting Class will have only the top 20 racers based on their previous performances in all categories.

Also slated to see action in the premier class is Keith Bryan Haw, who will take part in the Vios Cup for the first time.

Providing glamour in the otherwise cutthroat competitions is the Promotional Class where celebrities are slated to compete, including Derek Ramsey, and Miss World 2013 Megan Young.

“With new celebrities and some familiar faces that will make up the third season, this racing program will further boost the popularity of local motorsports,” said Toyota Motor Philippines president Matoru Suzuki.
Overall champion in Sporting Class will win P150,000 while the second and third placers get P100,00 and P50,000, respectively. There will also be prizes for heat winners.
