Molde savoring every moment as UP inches closer to Final Four
Isa Molde doesn’t want to get ahead of herself.
On the verge of taking UP back to the Final Four after a 12-year absence, the outside hitter just wants to savor every game in what has been a winning season for the Lady Maroons
Article continues after this advertisement“We just want to go out there and play. Winning is the only thing that’s on our minds every game,” said the promising rookie out of Hope Christian High School.
But it doesn’t hurt that UP has continued to rack up wins, including a straight-sets victory over University of the East on Sunday, the team’s seventh in 11 games to assure itself of a playoff for a semifinals slot.
“All teams want to be in the Final Four. We don’t think about the Final Four every game, but we certainly want to make it. Our focus, though, is on the team we’re facing,” she said.
Article continues after this advertisementMolde also bared the team’s recent success has led to the UP community hoping to finally see the Lady Maroons in the playoffs.
“They’re wishing us good luck and they’re hoping that we’re going to make the Final Four,” Molde said.”We’re also hoping and keep fighting.”
But that doesn’t change the team’s focus of staying in the moment.
“We’re just going to play and keep our focus on the game. That’s the important thing,” said Molde.
