After knocking out Mir, Hunt eyes title rematch with Werdum

Mark Hunt’s return to the Octagon more than a year since his last fight didn’t last long with a first-round knockout of two-time heavyweight champion Frank Mir at UFC Fight Night 85 in Brisbane, Australia.

And shortly after taking out Mir with a devastating right hand to the head, the 41-year-old is looking to avenge a previous loss as his next fight.
“I’d like to rematch any of the top guys, JDS (Dos Santos), Stipe or Werdum,” Hunt said in an interview with the Australian Associated Press following his walk-off KO win over Mir at the 3:01 mark of the opening round.

“I’ve never lost a rematch, so I’d love to do that. I can party anywhere,” added Hunt, who was born in South Auckland, New Zealand before residing in Sydney, Australia.

Preferably, Hunt, the No 9 ranked contender in his division, eyes a title rematch with Werdum.

Hunt was winning over Werdum early in their fight two years ago until he got caught with a flying knee in the second round that led to a stoppage.
