Floyd Mayweather Jr. stressed once again that he is retired and no one can take him off his retirement chair.
Not even a rematch against Manny Pacquiao.
Talking to FightHype.com, Mayweather dispelled his father, Mayweather Sr., who said Pacquiao can get another shot at Money.
“So many fighters use my name to stay relevant. Whether it’s MMA or boxing, fighters constantly use my name to stay relevant. I don’t knock them for doing that, but as far as when they talk about me fighting Pacquiao, totally false,” Mayweather said in the report.
Mayweather Sr. said in a podcast “Pacquiao can get it again” if the Filipino comes out victorious against Timothy Bradley on April 9, but Junior has made it clear once again he is not interested.
“Any time you hear a trainer or someone…they said that my father said something about that. It doesn’t matter what my father says. My father can only express his opinion on what he feels, but I’m letting every know as of right now, I’m not interested in fighting anyone,” Mayweather told FightHype.com.
Mayweather retired with a 49-0 record, matching legendary heavyweight Rocky Marciano, with his last fight a unanimous decision victory against Andre Berto.
And even a chance to get to 50-0 doesn’t entice Mayweather.
He added he doesn’t need to give Pacquiao a rematch after he convincingly beat the Filipino boxing champion in 12 rounds.
“I don’t want to hear this anymore, Floyd Mayweather-Pacquiao. That’s over with. That chapter is over with. That’s totally over with. I don’t want to hear nothing else about Mayweather-Pacquiao. That’s not going to ever happen again. That will never happen again. Never. Out of 12 rounds and I win 10 out of 12 rounds, why should I have to prove myself? Blowout!”
