Star guard James Yap could miss the rest of the 2016 PBA Commissioner’s Cup eliminations after suffering a right calf strain.
Governor Rene Pardo confirmed the development and said that the star guard will be out for two to three weeks.
Coach Jason Webb, meanwhile, was more optimistic in Yap’s timetable for return.
“We’ll have it treated accordingly and hope he’ll be back at the soonest,” Webb said.
The former PBA MVP went down at the 3:50 mark of the third quarter in the Hotshots’s game against San Miguel last Sunday.
He said he felt a pop after receiving a pass near the halfcourt line before falling down and limping his way back to the bench.
