HOLLYWOOD—Smorgasbord while training for a fight?

Well, that’s exactly the uncommon situation Manny Pacquiao is having in his preparations for Timothy Bradley.

“Eat all you can,” Pacquiao told Manila-based sportswriters about his food intake while in training camp for his third showdown with Bradley. “Walang problema sa 147 (No problem with my weight at 147).”

Pacquiao even boasted that he can still make 135 pounds if he wants to.

Though he didn’t tell his exact weight as of Monday (Tuesday in Manila), Pacquiao said he’s well within the limit of the pay-per-view welterweight bout set April 9 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Fact is, he had a hearty breakfast of pochero, beef steak, fried salmon, eggs and pakbet after his early morning run at Griffith Park. On the side, he took four vitamin supplements.

“Any weight as long as I feel all right,” said Pacquiao, who was right on the dot at 147 for Pacquiao-Bradley I in 2012 which was incredulously rewarded to the Californian, who checked in at 146.

Even assistant trainer Buboy Fernandez couldn’t tell his bosom buddy’s exact weight, but assured that Pacquiao monitors it daily with two weighing scales at his room at North Plymouth Boulevard.

“His weight fluctuates, but it’s usually for only a few pounds,” said Fernandez in Filipino. “He burns them out running and training.”

No wonder, Pacquiao eats with gusto.
