University of Santo Tomas’ dreams of entering the Final Four of the UAAP Season 78 women’s volleyball tournament is as bright as dusk and its head coach knows the Golden Tigresses will have to go the extra mile to get into the semifinals.

“Play hard, pray hard,” UST head coach Kungfu Reyes said Wednesday after their stinging four-set loss to Far Eastern University. “Pride na lang labanan diyan (We need to fight with pride).”

UST currently sits at sixth seed with a 5-7 record and another loss will slam the door on the Golden Tigresses semifinals hopes.

What the Golden Tigresses need to do now is to sweep their remaining two games and hope FEU and National University lose to force playoff games for a spot in the Final Four.

“Wala na sa kamay namin (It’s out of our hands),” Reyes said. “The only thing we need to do now is to win our last two games. We need to walk the talk.”

Reyes added it was his team’s lack of aggressiveness and desire that led them to their loss.

“Mas gusto ng FEU manalo ngayon eh (FEU wanted to win more). Gusto naming manalo kaya lang kulang (We want to win but we didn’t want it more than they did). Kulang tayo sa aggressiveness (We weren’t aggressive enough).”
