HOLLYWOOD—With a week to go before his scheduled fight against American Timothy Bradley Jr., Manny Pacquiao began tapering off his training, going for a light run and a few abdominal exercises Saturday morning.

Pacquiao, who faces Bradley at MGM Grand in Las Vegas on April 9, was scheduled for an afternoon workout at Wild Card gym.

Pacquiao completed his quick morning training at Pan Pacific Park amid a throng of supporters trying to get a glimpse of the Filipino boxing champion.

“He did his usual road work and jogging and a bit of sit ups,” assistant trainer and longtime pal Buboy Fernandez told INQUIRER.net in Filipino.

“We can’t do anything heavy because we’re winding down our training. We just need a little push before leaving on Monday.”

Fernandez said that Pacquiao will again do a morning hill run at scenic Griffith Park and four rounds of sparring after lunch before departing for Las Vegas Monday afternoon.

“We’re a hundred percent ready for the fight,” Fernandez said.

After the workout that lasted an hour and half, Pacquiao spent the next hour signing autographs as fans flocked his SUV at the parking lot of the recreation center.
