NU keeps Final 4 hopes up, ousts UST

National University held off a shaken University of Santo Tomas in five grueling sets, 19-25, 25-11, 25-16, 26-21, 15-8, and kept its hopes alive for a Final Four slot in the UAAP Season 78 women’s volleyball tournament Sunday at San Juan Arena.

Jaja Santiago imposed her will for the Lady Bulldogs with 22 points while team captain Myla Pablo and Jorelle Singh added 18 and 15, respectively.

With the win, the Lady Bulldogs climbed to 7-6 good for fifth while Golden Tigresses dropped out of Final Four contention after falling to 5-8.

EJ Laure led the Golden Tigresses with 18 points while Cherry Rondina had 14.
