UAAP: FEU picks up crucial win over UP
Far Eastern University inched closer for a Final Four spot after repulsing University of the Philippines, 17-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-14, in the UAAP Season 78 women’s volleyball tournament Sunday at Mall of Asia Arena.
Bernadeth Pons was on point for the Lady Tamaraws as she fired 19 points while Mary Joy Palma and Toni Rose Basas added 15, apiece.
Article continues after this advertisementFEU now has an 8-5 record to move into solo third spot while the Lady Maroons, who took hold of the same position for the most part of the second round, slipped to a fourth place tie with National University with a 7-6 record.
The Lady Bulldogs won earlier, pulling the plug on the University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses’ semifinals bid.
It’s now the third straight win of the Lady Tamaraws and their fourth in five games, while UP took its second straight loss.
