Light workout for Pacquiao: We’ll save power for Saturday
LAS VEGAS—To keep himself in top shape with his fight against Timothy Bradley Jr. just a few days away, Manny Pacquiao sweated it out in training Tuesday afternoon with a few rounds of mitts and shadow boxing.
Pacquiao went straight from the formal welcome at MGM Grand to the nearby Top Rank Gym where did six rounds of punch mitts with trainer Freddie Roach after shadow boxing. He concluded the day with jumping rope and abdominal exercise.

“We just wanted to keep up with out training since we still have a few days. We’re just doing some finishing touches,” assistant trainer Buboy Fernandez, who was the day’s timekeeper, told INQUIRER.net. “If he doesn’t train a day, he gets weak.”
The atmosphere was light in the spacious training facility as Pacquiao joked around with Roach while they worked the mitts and polished punch combinations, which could come in handy as he looks for a convincing triumph over Bradley when they face off on Saturday at MGM Grand.

“I’m hitting your hand but that’s actually Bradley’s face,” Pacquiao said as he and Roach went through a particular combination.
“I’m all set and and ready for the fight on Saturday . We’re just doing conditioning and warm ups. No more power. We’ll save that for Saturday ,” Pacquiao later told reporters.
Pacquiao was in a cheerful mood as he hopped around the ring while singing folk song “Bahay Kubo” and counted out loud in Spanish while doing the ab drills.
