Ateneo ran wild against University of the East, 25-15, 25-13, 25-11, and claimed sole possession of the first seed in the UAAP Women’s Volleyball Tournament Wednesday at San Juan Arena.
Alyssa Valdez capped off the Lady Eagles’ 11th win against two losses with an emphatic kill down the middle.
She hopes their penultimate win would give them a confidence boost before taking on rivals La Salle in their final elimination game on Sunday.
“Hopefully the win would give us confidence on Sunday against La Salle,” Valdez said. “Hopefully all of us are ready.”
Helping Valdez close out the match was Kim Gequillana who scored two of Ateneo’s last three points in the match.
Valdez once again led the Lady Eagles with 17 points while Jhoana Maraguinot added 13.
Shaya Adorador led the 0-13 Lady Warriors with seven points.
