Donaire battling 2 ‘foes’
NONITO Donaire Jr. is preparing not only against a “hungry” opponent but also against the scorching summer heat.
When he stakes his crown against WBO super bantamweight crown against Zsolt Bedak of Hungary on April 23, Donaire will also have to deal with the “sauna-like” conditions at the open-air venue of the Cebu City Sports Complex.
So he arrived three weeks ahead of his title fight from his home in Las Vegas to train here. Yesterday, the 33-year-old Fighter of the Year (2012) even sparred and admitted to having vomited a little.

Donaire, who has a 36-3-0 record including 23 knockouts, was joined by his father and trainer Nonuto Sr., and executives of ABS-CBN led by Peter Musngi during the press conference for the fight.
The 32-year-old Bedak, an Olympian who just like Donaire is known for his left hook, is set to arrive in the week of the fight.
