UP seniors relish streetdance ‘three-peat’

It’s the end of the road for the seniors of the University of the Philippines Street Dance Club but going with them in their sunset stroll is their third straight title.

Team captain Dindin Casillan said their routine in UAAP Season 78’s Street Dance Competition was the perfect choreography for her as it was the testament to their hard work.

“Close sa heart ko young routine kasi binigay ng teammates ko best nila,” Casillan said who got the inspiration from Pitch Perfect’s Riff off.

She added the three-peat bid was something that pushed them to greater heights especially with the pressure that comes with defending multiple titles.

“Sobrang laking pressure and ayun nakamit po, nung nag rehearse kami andun yung focus namin,” Casillan said. “Gusto namin maipakita na maganda ang piece and magamit ang strength ng bawat isa sa team.”

Fellow captain Hideo Enomoto said they wanted to make things memorable for them once they leave the collegiate ranks.

“Of course aim namin ang top spot, and masaya kami na kahit papano na pass on sa younger generation ang experience namin before,” Enomoto said. “Sana continuous in the future ang ganung level of excellence.”
