ATENEO seeks revenge against La Salle today as the elimination round of the UAAP women’s volleyball heads to its final stretch.
The Lady Eagles and the Lady Spikers have already secured the semifinal bonus but there’s no easing up for the fierce rivals in their 4:30 p.m. showdown at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
“We can’t just take this game lightly,” said La Salle coach Ramil de Jesus. “It’s Ateneo-La Salle, so even if it’s no-bearing, everyone plays with pride.”
In the first round, the Lady Spikers shocked the Lady Eagles with a straight-set 25-22, 25-14, 25-18 decision that also snapped the defending champions’ 24-game winning streak.
But the Lady Eagles vow to avenge that upset as they go for a 12th victory to seal their hold of the No. 1 spot.
