De La Salle University has been a regular fixture in the Final Four of the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament and this season won’t be any different with the Lady Spikers making another trip to the Final Four.

With eight championships and 17 Final Four appearances, no wonder the Lady Spikers always have that extra edge going into the big dance.

Mika Reyes, the heir apparent to the green swagger that has been passed down from Michelle Gumabao to Abby Maraño, is ready for whatever force comes her way.

“Siyempre 105 percent, ganun,” Reyes said Wednesday after La Salle got its 11th win with a victory over National University. “Kailangan nandoon agad ang kumpiyansa.”

“At siyempre ang kumpiyansa nagsisimula sa sarili.”

Reyes is in her fifth year in the UAAP but even younger Lady Spikers carry that animo spirit.

Kim Dy, who put up career numbers at the expense of the Lady Bulldogs, knows coming into the Final Four will require confidence not only individually but as a team.

“Confident enough,” Dy said who is in her third year in the league. “Siguro in training kailangan push pa kaming lahat, team effort.”
