REIGNING Philippine Superliga Grand Prix champion Foton is down to three choices for its reinforcements in the Asian Women’s Volleyball Club Championships: Kristy Jaeckel, Ariel Usher and Lindsay Stalzer.
The Toplander will form the core of the PSL team that will battle the top clubs in the region when the country hosts the meet on Sept. 3 to 11.
The country is allowed two imports and choices are tough among super-scorers Jaeckel and Usher, and all-around player Stalzer who was also the 2015 PSL GP Most Valuable Player.
There are reports, however, that Jaeckel, who once scored 40 points in the PSL, won’t be available.
PSL team owners met yesterday to draft the composition of the PH team.
Those expected to make the team are 6-foot-5 Jaja Santiago, Foton mainstays Angeli Araneta and Rhea Dimaculangan and Aiza Maizo-Pontillas.
Jaeckel is a power-hitting scorer who played for Mane ‘n Tail, while Usher is an open-hitter who steered Cignal to the Final Four last year along with Amanda Anderson.
Already, Foton and the other PSL teams have reportedly agreed on lending their players to the squad and are set to announce the 18-man lineup this weekend.
