Batang Gilas waylays hapless Laos
Joshua Sinclair and Theo Joshua Flores had a field day on Sunday to lead Batang Gilas to an 81-point massacre of Laos, 133-52, at the 2016 SEABA Under-18 Championship in Medan, Indonesia.
The two, who are set to join the NU Bulldogs in the local collegiate level, came off the bench and set the pace for the Philippines’ second victory in the tournament.
Flores had an all-around game of 19 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists, while Sinclair added 18 markers and seven boards.
Alain Madrigal led Batang Gilas with his 23 points.
The fancied Filipino squad proved to be superior from the get-go, racing to an 8-0 start before widening the gap to a 32-10 edge after the first period. They continued to pounce on Laos before finishing with the 81-point victory.
Batang Gilas followed up its 101-45 win over Thailand a day before.
