PHILIPPINE-BORN Grandmaster Wesley So drew with GM Alkesandr Lenderman in the 11th and final round on Monday to place second in the 2016 US Open Chess Championships won by world No. 3 GM Fabiano Caruana. So, now representing the United States like Caruana, wound up with 7.5 points, the same total posted by American third-placer Hiraku Nakamura and a full point off Caruana, who beat International Master Akshat Chandra for 8.5.
