With their backs against the wall with a title to defend seemingly slipping out of their hands, the Ateneo Lady Eagles soared to one of the greatest comebacks in UAAP Season 78 and pulled off an epic five-set win over arch rivals De La Salle.

Ateneo senior Amy Ahomiro says the momentum is on their side now after their 16-25, 26-28, 25-17, 25-16, 15-11 victory over the Lady Spikersm and she knows it could carry them to the championship come Saturday.

“The momentum is with us now, they had momentum and confidence from last game, but like I said we just need to have confidence on ourselves and as a team,” said Ahomiro, who had nine points in the match.

La Salle took the first match with an emphatic 25-22, 25-22, 25-21 sweep of Ateneo.

Ahomiro’s last attack in the middle forced a double-touch violation on the Lady Spikers, ending an epic showdown and tying the series at 1-1.
