San Miguel is bringing back import Arizona Reid as a last-minute replacement for Tyler Wilkerson in the 2016 PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinals.
Austria, who said it was his decision to gamble with an All-Filipino crew in such a crucial stretch, said Reid is the best they could find in such a short notice.
“He’s the best available player right now,” he said after San Miguel’s 104-98 game 3 win Thursday night.
The former Best Import will be cleared for Game 4 on Sunday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Beermen parted ways with Wilkerson ahead of game 3 after the import blew his top following their game 2 loss last Tuesday.
San Miguel, which stayed alive after being down 0-2 in the best-of-five series, is trying to score another historic fightback in the post-season.
