La Salle is set to regain the UAAP general championship from University of Santo Tomas at the end of the league’s 78th Season.

UST yielded the overall race following the loss of the Golden Booters to University of the Philippines in the men’s football semifinals on Thursday, as per The Varsitarian.

La Salle could still earn more points if its women’s volleyball team goes on to beat Ateneo in Game 3 of their finals series on Saturday.

But as it stands, La Salle will be crowned general champions with a 281-280 edge over UST according to the computation of The Varsitarian.

UST has the most general championships with 40 while this year marks only the third time La Salle ended up as overall winner.

Meanwhile, UST outpointed University of the East, 138-133, in the juniors’ overall championship.
