After a dismal PBA Commissioner’s Cup showing, GlobalPort shook things up in its guard rotation and acquired shooters Karl Dehesa and Mike DiGregorio from Mahindra.
In exchange, the Batang Pier sent Paolo Taha, Johathan Uyloan, and rookie Roi Sumang to the Enforcers.
The PBA Commissioner’s Office approved the trade on Friday.
GlobalPort further strengthened its backcourt already bannered by the tandem of Terrence Romeo and Stanley Pringle with the addition of Dehesa and DiGregorio, two of the league’s up-and-coming snipers.
Dehesa averaged 11.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists this past conference, while the Fil-Italian DiGregorio had a breakout conference in the Commissioner’s Cup while netting 4.8 markers in 11 games.
Taha, Uyloan, and Sumang, meanwhile, have all seen a rise in their playing time for the Batang Pier after Romeo and Pringle suffered from injuries throughout the second conference.
The trio’s infusion to the team will coincide with the change in the Mahindra squad, which will now be led by newly-appointed deputy Chris Gavina.
Assistant coach Chito Victolero resigned from the team this week due to health issues.
