The unlikely ballers of the universally revered ’Tune Squad’ has a new teammate in place—and it just happens to be 4-time NBA Most Valuable Player, LeBron James.
Citing reports from Bleacher Report, the Cleveland Cavaliers’ superstar will join Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tazmanian Devil and the rest of the digitally animated characters for a direct sequel, 20 years after its first release in 1996.
‘Fast and Furious 6’ and ‘Star Trek Beyond’ director Justin Lin is reportedly awaiting the green light from Warner Bros. Entertainment (WB), to spearhead the revival of popular cult-classic film.
Speculations even grew further after James’ production company, Spring Hill, announced a partnership with WB last year, which exclusively owns rights to the “Looney Tunes”franchise.
The rumored film, however, is still in the early stages of development, with Lin and Andrew Dodge co-writing a script.
Meanwhile, ESPN’S Brian Windhorst tweeted that although a script is in the works, a deal has yet to be struck with James, as he is currently fulfilling his duties on the court.
Despite a report LeBron will star in Space Jam 2, no deal is in place sources say. Maybe at some point but not as of yet.

The highly anticipated sequel will not be James’ first venture in the limelight, as he also received praise for his acting chops in last year’s comedy flick, “Trainwreck”.
The lead role of the original ”Space Jam” was immortalized by the basketball “G.O.A.T” himself, Michael Jordan, which earned $230.4 million in revenue worldwide.
James, meanwhile, just led his team to victory in game 1 of the best-of-seven-series against the Atlanta Hawks in the ongoing NBA playoffs. Khristian Ibarrola
