The reigning NBA Most Valuable Player, Stephen Curry, might just be the deadliest shooter in the game today, but he reportedly ‘misfired’ on his first attempt to touch lips with his lovely wife Ayesha, during their first date.

In an interview with Alan Shipnuck of Parents Magazine, the lovely couple opened up about the early stages of their relationship.

“I always had my eye on her, but I got a little shaken, for sure,”  said the sweet-stroking Golden State Warriors’ guard, who was in the same church group with Ayesha, as teenagers.

“I wasn’t allowed to date in high school. We always laugh that we were both focused on God,” chimed in the mother of two.

The pair reportedly went on separate paths in college, where Steph starred at Davidson College in North Carolina, while Ayesha pursued an acting career in Los Angeles, California.

The three-time NBA All-star revealed he reached out to Ayesha through Facebook, as he was in LA for the ESPYS sports award show.

The husband-and-wife-to-be was hitting it off, up until Ayesha dodged Steph’s attempt for a kiss.

“Yep. I struck out,” Steph confirmed with a grin on his face.

Ayesha, meanwhile, further divulged details of their awkward predicament, much to Steph’s embarrassment.

“He was in mid-conversation and came flying at my face like a thief in the night. So I was like, No. Then I thought, Oh, I didn’t know this is what was happening.”

Things, however, turned out for the best for the couple, as they have been happily married for four years and blessed with two beautiful daughters—3-year-old  NBA sweetheart, Riley, and a 10-month-old baby named Ryan.  Khristian Ibarrola
