Global, Voltes seek share of UFL top spot

GLOBAL aims to sustain its superb form when it battles Laos Saturday even as former second division stalwart JP Voltes seek a share of the lead in the 2016 United Football League at Rizal Memorial Stadium.

With skipper Misagh Bahadoran on the firing end, Global’s resurgence continued last Sunday with a 4-2 win over Stallion in their league opener.

Coach Leigh Manson’s charges remain heavy favorites in the 4 p.m. duel with a Laos side also boasting of former Global players Izzo El-Habbib and Sean Bateau.

JP Voltes also shoots for a second win against Manila Nomads at 2 p.m. as the league moved kickoff to an earlier time with the stadium lights undergoing rehabilitation.

Voltes also delivered a scintillating performance to open its campaign, drubbing Pasargad, 6-0, last week behind a hat trick from on-loan striker J Baguioro.

Nomads enjoyed a walkover win over MSA Agila in their league opener.

Bahadoran will once again be a marked man after his brace against Stallion last Sunday.
