CDO netter snares 3 Cebuana titles
CAGAYAN de Oro’s Mary Aubrey Calma asserted her dominance anew in the Cebuana Lhuillier age group tennis, winning two singles titles and one doubles crown during the recent Surigao City leg of the series.
Calma disposed of Davao’s Ma. Angelica Novis in the 16-and-Under class and Sharon Mae Bulangis in 18-U, with both matches ending 6-1, 6-1.
Calma later teamed up with Stephanie Geraldino in beating Bulanis and Anna Pozo in the girl’s 18-U doubles.
Sultan Kudarat’s Minnete April Bentino also grabbed two singles titles after overpowering CDO’s Casey Padilla, 6-1, 6-2, in the 12-U division and Novis in the 14-U finals, 6-2, 6-2.
In the boys’ side, Koronadal’s Janus Ringia dominated Clyde Mari Casino in the 18-U section, 6-1, 6-1, but Sultan Kudarat’s Vince EJ Tugade foiled Ringia in 16-U, 6-1, 6-2.
