To further fuel rumors that there is a mega bout brewing between two of mixed martial arts and boxing’s biggest stars, Connor McGregor teased fans with a fight poster pitting him against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
After a report came out that the cross-sport fight will likely be sealed “in the coming weeks,” McGregor tweeted the poster with the caption “MMA vs boxing.”
McGregor is between jobs after his short-lived retirement effectively pulled him out of UFC 200 rematch with Nick Diaz.

Mayweather, meanwhile, has hinted at a comeback after insisting for months that he is happy with retirement life.
The undefeated boxing champion further gave credence to the McGregor rumors by making a statement that “it’s possible.”
“It was a name that was shot at me,” Mayweather said in video posted by Fighthype.com. “The rumors that you all have been hearing are the rumors that I started. It may not be a rumor, so keep your fingers crossed. It may be a boxer versus an MMA fighter.”
