NBA: Kings hire Joerger as head coach

Dave Joerger was named the new head coach of the NBA’s Sacramento Kings on Monday, two days after he was fired by the Memphis Grizzlies.

Terms were not disclosed, but Joerger agreed to a four-year deal worth $16 million with the fourth year of the contract a team option, according to American sports broadcaster ESPN.

The 42-year-old emerged Sunday as the top candidate for the Sacramento job after he had meetings with Kings vice president of basketball operations and general manager Vlade Divac.
