Rosario, Vosotros lead Gilas cadets in SEABA Cup

Troy Rosario and Almond Vosotros will captain the Gilas cadets crew for the 2016 SEABA Cup to be held in Bangkok, Thailand from May 22 to 26.

Gilas assistant coach Nash Racela, who has been tasked to spearhead the team, said the entry of the PBA rookies are sure to give the amateur squad the experience it needs in the regional tournament.

“We’re thankful for TNT and Blackwater managements for allowing their players for the national team,” he said. “It’s a welcome help considering a lot of players declined to join the pool and some are not available because of school commitments.”

Rosario and Vosotros were part of the 2015 SEA Games team which won the gold in Singapore.

Also joining them in this return tour of duty for the national team are SEA Games teammates Mac Belo, Kevin Ferrer, and Jiovani Jalalon.

FEU stalwarts Mike Tolomia, Roger Pogoy, Raymar Jose, Russel Escoto, and Ken Holmqvist are also included in the squad, together with Ateneo shooter Von Pessumal and Chiang Kai Shek forward Jonas Tibayan.

Racela was satisfied with the makeup of crew despite the absence of standouts Kiefer Ravena and Bobby Ray Parks in the lineup.

“With the 15 days of preparation given us, we are hoping our experience can help us attain our goal,” he said.
