MIGUEL Tabuena and Angelo Que remain solidly on track to represent the Philippines in golf in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics with less than two months remaining for the deadline to earn world rankings points.
Running 37th and 52nd, respectivelyóthe worldís Top 60 qualify for the GamesóTabuena and Que would need to sustain their consistent form to give the Philippines representation in Olympic golf where the worldís best will play for the gold.
Their rank is based on the international Olympic golf world ranking and not the PGA Tour World Ranking. There are a total of 12 fellow Asian Tour members in the Top 60, with Siddikur Rahman of Bangladesh crashing the elite list last week.
Wang, though, needs to play well in the final two months before the deadline to make it.
Gavin Green, who represented Malaysia in the 2013 Putra Cup at Sherwood which the Philippines won, is on the bubble at No. 60.
Kiradeph Aphibarnrat, the burly and talented Thai, leads the Asian Tour members in the world rankings, occupying 19th spot with his veteran countryman, the PGA Tour veteran Thongchai Jaidee, ranked 23rd.
Jason Day of Australia, a half-Filipino, is the top-ranked player in the world.
