Aguilar battles Mangosong anew
AFTER tasting defeat for the first time in the third leg, bike icon Glenn Aguilar aims to regain his winning ways as he battles young Bornok Mangosong in the fourth and penultimate stage of the 2016 Diamond Motocross Series May 21 at Mx Messiah Fairgrounds in Taytay, Rizal.
A victory by the 41-year-old Aguilar will assure him of winning the overall title in the five-leg series featuring the country’s leading riders.
Showing unyielding determination, Aguilar topped the first two legs before getting stopped by Mangosong, who is riding under Team UA of Mindanao.
Article continues after this advertisementOrganized by Generation Congregation, the highly-successful series is sponsored by Wheeltek, Dunlop tires, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation, Coffee Grounds, Xtreme Adrenaline Sports Entertainment Co. and PTT Philippines Corporation.
“I expect riders in contention for the overall title to go for consistent results to prevent crashing and lose valuable points,” said Sam Tamayo of the organizing Extreme Adrenalin Sports.
Other riders to watch are Ralph Ramento and Enzo Rellosa in the pro lites category and Pia Gabriel and Janelle Saulog in the ladies category. Other categories to be contested are Amateur open production, Executive class, Kids 85cc, Kids 65cc, Kids 50cc, Open underbone, Local enduro at and MMF Academy.
