The Bloodline may have trumped over The Club, but Seth Rollins is back to reclaim what’s rightfully his.
Rollins made a shocking return in WWE Extreme Rules, imposing himself back in the title picture Monday (Manila time) at Prudential Center in New Jersey.
The former WWE Champion attacked Roman Reigns and hit him with a Pedigree to end the show, standing tall with the title on hand.
Reigns was coming off a tough Extreme Rules match, topping AJ Styles to retain his WWE title after reversing a Phenomenal Forearm attempt with a Spear for the three-count.
The match saw numerous interference from Reigns’ cousins The Usos and Styles’ brethrens Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, inserting themselves in the main event to help their side win.
Anderson and Gallows beat The Usos earlier in the night in their Tornado Tag match with a Magic Killer.
But the story of the night was the return of Rollins, who just recovered from a gruesome knee injury in November last year. Rollins tore his ACL, MCL, and medial meniscus at a live event, forcing him to relinquish the WWE Title.
In the night’s other matches, Charlotte also retained her WWE Women’s Championship after making Natalya tap out to the Figure Eight in their submission match following a distraction from Dana Brooke.
Dean Ambrose also beat Chris Jericho in an Asylum match after hitting him with a Dirty Deeds on a bed of thumb tacks.
The Miz successfully defended his Intercontinental Championship in the fatal-4-way match, pinning Cesaro after a Helluva Kick from Sami Zayn. Kevin Owens broke off Zayn’s pin attempt as the fierce rivals brawled on the outside, leaving The Miz to take advantage of a prone Cesaro for the pinfall victory.
Rusev also became a two-time United States Champion after making Kalisto tap out with The Accolade, breaking the defending titlist in half.
The New Day retained the WWE Tag Team Championship over The Vaudevillains. Kofi Kingston nailed a distracted Simon Gotch with a Trouble in Paradise, leading to Xavier Woods connecting with a Shining Wizard for the pinfall finish.
In the pre-show, Baron Corbin defeated Dolph Ziggler in their no disqualification match, nailing the latter with a low blow before hitting him with End of Days.
