Aby Maraño needed to turn her back and remind herself who CJ Rosario is.

It’s not that Maraño didn’t know Rosario at all, she just wanted to be sure that she’s talking about the same person who gave her quite a first impression when they played against each other before.

“Is she from Arellano? Siya ba yung setter, spiker?” Maraño wondered after looking at this year’s Philippine Superliga aspirants playing behind her that included Rosario.

“Actually, I was able to play against her.

Rosario, who is projected as this year’s No. 1 pick by RC Cola-Army in the PSL Draft on Friday, was matched up against Maraño during a scrimmage between the draftees and PSL selection team and at one point, the former Arellano University was able to get a spike through.

“And it’s because of players like her kaya tumataas lalo [level] ng Philippine volleyball.
