San Beda went on a hunt and mauled down Mapua, 106-80, in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup Thursday at San Juan Arena.

Red Lions head coach Jamike Jarin had the luxury of using a full lineup, 18 people to be exact, and made it into his utter advantage over Cardinals head coach Atoy Co’s 10-man squad.

Jarin said their win against the depleted Cardinals is not a reason to be elated with NCAA MVP Allwell Oraeme absent from the Mapua line-up.

“Of course you cannot be too happy with the victory because Oraeme was out,” said Jarin whose team now holds a 3-1 win-loss card. “Oraeme is possibly the best center right now.”

“You can’t take away anything from Mapua but they’re a different team with Oraeme not here.”

Robert Bolick led the way for San Beda with 15 points while Dan Sara added 14.

AC Soberano and Jeramer Cabanag came off the bench to pitch in 10 points apiece for the Red Lions.

Almel Oquina had 26 points for the 1-4 Cardinals while Exequiel Biteng and Buenaveuntura Raflores had 17 and 11 points, respectively.
