A depleted San Sebastian took down an equally-undermanned University of Perpetual Help, 80-70, in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup Friday.

Both teams were without their star players as Bright Akhuetie did not suit up for the Altas while versatile forward Michael Calisaan was absent in the Golden Stags’ lineup.

It was, however, the Golden Stags who got the better of the matchup as they improved to 3-1 while the Altas slipped to 4-2.

Alvin Capobres and Jerrick Fabian did the dirty work for San Sebastian, each putting up 20 points in the absence of Calisaan.

“Everybody stepped up, it was a total team effort,” said Golden Stags head coach Egay Macaraya.

Gab Dagangon led University of Perpetual Help with 16 points as Akhuetie was preparing for a championship game in a separate league.
