Galang top pick in 2016 PSL Draft; Rosario goes to Petron at 2nd

Ara Galang reunites with her former La Salle teammates as F2 Logistics selected her as the top pick in the 2016 Philippine Superliga Draft Friday at SM Mall of Asia Music Hall in Pasay City.

The 21-year-old open hitter joins coach Ramil de Jesus and ex-Lady Spikers Abby Marano, Paneng Mercado, and Cha Cruz in the Cargo Movers roster.

F2 Logistics acquired the top pick from RC Cola – Army in a trade that had them switching selections.

Petron, meanwhile, picked former Arellano University middle blocker Cristine Joy Rosario as its second pick.

Amy’s Kitchen – Perpetual chose University of Mindanao setter Renelyn Raterta third, followed by Genericka picking FEU middle blocker Geneveve Casugod at fourth, and Cignal HD selecting Davao native Mary Grace Berte at fifth.

Arellano outside hitter Dana Henson goes to Foton at sixth and Bulacan State U standout Jonah Sabete went to Standard Insurance – Philippine Navy at seventh.

RC Cola – Army passed on its eighth pick to end the first round.

The second round also saw only three selections, with Arellano setter Angelica Legacion going to Generika, Cignal taking SWU middle blocker Marlyn Llagoso, and Foton nabbing Arellano’s Shirley Salamagos.
The 2016 PSL All-Filipino Conference begins on June 18.
