Filoil: Arellano scalps UP without Jalalon

No Jio Jalalon, no problem.
Arellano University breezed to another win without its star point guard as it laid down the law against University of the Philippines, 75-61, in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup Friday at San Juan Arena.
Kent Salado took over the bus driving duties from the Bus Driver who is playing in the 2016 Seaba Cup Finals as the Conductor filled up the stat sheets with 11 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.
Chiefs head coach Jerry Codiñera was in awe of his combo guard who took over for the Chiefs, who now holds an impressive 5-1 record.
“Si Kent talaga yung second guard namin after Jio,” said Codinera. “Maganda yung gurad skills niya and that’s why we stick with him.”
Donald Gumaru also finished with 12 points and five rebounds as the Chiefs destroyed the Fighting Maroons 24-10 in fastbreak points and 18-5 in assists.
Dave Moralde led UP with 15 points as the Fighting Maroons played their second game without Jett Manuel.
