Air Force rained down on hapless Baguio City, 25-15, 25-19, 25-18, to keep its unbeaten run in the Shakey’s V-League Open Conference Saturday at San Juan Arena.
The Jet Spikers improved to 2-0 even as Summer Spikers dropped to 0-2.
Air Force head coach Jasper Jimenez said it’s his team’s mentality and killer instinct that pushed them to the win.
“Sabi ko nga sakanila every game is a championship game so lahat sila ay nagsi-step up kaya nagko-contribute silang lahat,” said Jimenez, who had the luxury of a balanced-scoring group.
Joy Cases had 12 points to lead Air Force with Judy Caballejo putting up eight and Iari Yongco and Jocemer Tapic each adding seven.
Air Force was on a different altitude altogether unleashing 42 points off spikes while Baguio only had 29, while also scoring eight service aces compared to none from the Summer Spikers.
Mary Ann Atuban had eight points to lead Baguio.
