WHEN University of the East and Adamson dispute the last quarterfinal berth today, the Pumaren brothers mentoring the two squads won’t mind putting pressure on their teams on the last elimination day of the Filoil Flying V Premier Cup.

The Red Warriors and the Falcons, tied at 3-3 in Group B, tangle at 3:15 p.m. as five other teams battle for positioning in the Last Eight at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

“We will play with our backs against the wall, and I like that because I want the players to get used to the pressure,” said UE coach Derrick Pumaren as he faces his younger brother and new Adamson mentor Franz Pumaren for the first time in the tournament.

La Salle (6-0) shoots for a sweep versus also-ran Letran (2-4) at 5 p.m., while San Beda (5-1) and Ateneo (4-2) fight for the second spot at 11:15 a.m. in Group B.
