Philippine Air Force kept their unbeaten streak going, trouncing winless UP, 27-25, 25-19, 25-17 in the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Open Conference Monday at Filoil Flying V Centre.

The Jet Spikers showed their mettle as they battled back from a 23-19 deficit in the first set.

“Pina-practice namin yung ganoong sitwasyon, na naghahabol kami at mayroong ganoong pressure,” said Air Force coach Jasper Jimenez. “Na-apply naman namin ngayon at lumabas yung tiwala nila sa isa’t isa kaya ang nangyari, na-overcome nila yung pressure.”

The Jet Spikers turned a close 16-14 affair to a 22-16 edge in the third set, as Judy Caballejo carried her squad to their third win in as many matches.

Jocemer Tapic led Air Force with 15 points, eight from kills, four service aces, and three blocks.

Caballejo added 12 of her 14 markers from hits, while Dell Palomata had 10.

The Fighting Maroons, meanwhile, remained at the cellar with a 0-2 record.

Kathy Bersola and Isa Molde topped UP with seven points apiece.
