Jalalon with near triple double as Arellano trips San Beda for semis spot

Arellano University drew big numbers from its one-two punch of Jio Jalalon and Dioncee Holts to beat San Beda, 86-79, for a spot in the Final Four of the 2016 Filoil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup at San Juan Arena.

Jalalon flirted with a triple-double, collecting a game-highs of 21 points and 10 assists on top of eight rebounds while Holts had 16 points on 6-of-6 shooting from the field that went with nine rebounds.

The Chiefs arranged a semifinals showdown with the National University Bulldogs, who beat the Adamson Falcons earlier.

Zach Nichols also had a solid game for Arellano with 16 points built on four 3-pointers.

Donald Tankoua led the Red Lions with 20 points and 16 rebounds.

La Salle and Far Eastern University are currently playing for the last semis spot.
