PORTLAND Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard is arriving in Manila Tuesday for a promotional tour that will see him flash his skills with select players at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Manila leg is the fourth and last stop of Lillard’s “Take on Summer” Tour organized by footwear company Adidas. He had previous stops in the Chinese cities of Beijing and Chengdu and Taipei.
Aside from drills, a five-on-five game is slated in the Big Dome event, where Lillard is tipped to participate much like in previous visits of NBA stars Stephen Curry and LeBron James.
The 25-year-old Lillard, the NBA Rookie of the Year in 2012, is coming off his finest season yet with averages of 25.1 points, 6.8 assists and 4 rebounds, although he missed out on a third All-Star selection.
The Oakland, California native led the Blazers to the second round of the NBA Playoffs, where they got eliminated by defending champion Golden State Warriors in five games.
