DETERMINED to retain its United Football League title, Ceres-La Salle bolstered its squad for the second round of the competition with the acquisition of Azkals goalkeeper Roland Muller, who will start playing for the Bacolod-based side next month.
Ceres coach Ali Go said Muller will be added to the lineup during the transfer window on July 18 or until the end of the first round of the tournament.
Muller is the latest in the series of big deals done by Ceres after Stephan Schrock’s loan move early this year.
“Roland is traveling here (to the Philippines) next month,” said Go. “We made an agreement already and I think I can say it now that it’s a finished deal.”
The Filipino-German goalkeeper, who is coming off a loan spell with Etoile Carouge in the Swiss Promotion League, joins a star-studded Ceres side that also boasts of national players Manny Ott, Martin Steuble, Kevin Ingreso and Patrick Reichelt.
Meanwhile, Global FC striker Mark Hartmann has signed with Singaporean side Geylang International, after undergoing a trial with the S-League side last week.
Hartmann was supposed to sign for Geylang as early as December last year, but the former Azkals player suffered a knee injury, stalling the move.
